I relied on my surgery team to pick the location for the surgery. I believe that is typical. Greeting & prepping for the surgery went very well. It was upon waking up from the surgery & what was done that horrified me. Thankfully I suffered no consequences from the actions but I do not believe the employees at the center acted in my best interests. The plan was for me to have my surgery & it was communicated to me that I would leave the surgery center around noon or shortly thereafter. It was known that my husband had an appointment with the surgeon & would be available to pick me up at around noon. This had been worked out between the surgery center, the doctors surgical coordinator & the doctors scheduIer. I went in at 6 am & was released at 10:30 When I first became conscious after general anethesia the fist thing I was aware of staff attempting to get me dressed. I was not able to communicate. One of the staff was berating me for flailing around. Once my dress was on I was put in a wheelchair and wheeled out to my waiting car & driver. I do not remember getting into the wheelchair or the car. I do remember the difficulty of navigating back to my hotel room & that noone had bothered to put on my shoes. The first item on the discharge instructions stated that I should not be left alone for several hours after being released however staff at the surgery center informed my husband that it would be okay for him to leave me alone in the hotel room while he went to his doctor appointment. I did get up while my husband was gone and thankfully when I fell it was onto the extra bed in the hotel room. I really doubt that my signature on the release documents is valid - it is illegible & I have no recollection of signing. Additionally, when I was released I still had a drain port attached - I was not given any information about the drain port nor when it was to be removed. I do not recommend this surgery center.
I met Dr. Pham and Ernesto recently to check over my back and neck following a bicycling accident in early May. Both Dr. Pham and Ernesto were very friendly and attentive. The front office staff is also friendly, and the center is state-of-the-art and comfortable. Thank your for helping me!
The staff is absolutely amazing. They put my mind at ease with their knowledge of the procedure and their positive energy. The anesthesiologist, Bob, I believe is some sort of magician, he is extremely skilled in the art of anesthesiology. My surgeon was superb. I think I made new friends with the nurses, they are all very friendly, attentive, and comforting. The facility is clean and nicely decorated. Shot out to Julie, she'sā great at her job!
