Today I received an lumbar epidural at this surgery center. My experience was fantastic. I'm bad with remembering names though I remember Tiffany only because of Tiffany's 5th avenue. The anesthesiologist was badass. The crew in the OR was Badass. Dr Porter who performed my procedure was Michael Jordan today. I'm 68 yrs old. I played international basketball and as a result these spinal issues rear up and I was Blessed to meet Dr Porter. Most Drs tell me I need to stop playing but they say with a smile. Dr Porter treatment is allowing me to continue to run and play with kids my age. The surgical crew does their all to help him make that happen. I shouldn't recommend Dr Porter so I can keep him to myself but I'm a team player and I share the ball. You can do worst but you can't do better. Back issues make that appointment even if I have to wait a bit. He's worth it. God Bless
Dr. Tipernini performed an epidural procedure on my back at the Advent Health Surgical Center in Davenport. I have had similar procedures at this location in the past. The Center is very convenient to my residence, but I also chose this facility because the Staff are so wonderful, caring, and reassuring. There may be a wait time prior to the procedure but let me assure you, that you will be cared for with the utmost professionalism. I was warmly greeted at arrival and paperwork was completed. I was escorted to the clinic and nurses ensured my vital signs were stable and medical history was correct. I was escorted to the surgery room and prepped for injections. The surgical staff was calm and diligent. I always felt comfortable and in good hands. Because of the coordination of doctors and staff, the procedure went smoothly. I was given post surgical instructions verbally and in writing. I highly recommend this facility and I will return here when needed. Thank you Doctor and staff.
They do not know how to do billing here. When I got there, they told me the day of that my co-pay was going to be over $1,000. You would think that they would’ve told me this before I showed up, but of course they didn’t because they never did a prior authorization as required by my insurance. To make a long story short, they don’t even know how to read or look into somebody’s insurance so my procedure is actually 100% covered. However, when I went there, they told me I had to put something down today and they made a big deal about starting me on a payment plan. They didn’t even know how to do that properly. They had to call somebody to call somebody. Very pushy to get my money, but taking their time to refund it. At the end of the day, they didn’t need a dime from me but kept collecting until I told him stop taking it out my account because it was supposed to be covered in the first place why put families through that when you could’ve just did your job to begin with.
I had surgery done on July 28, 2028, lumbar fusion and I was scheduled for a 2:30PM which I was there since 1:30PM. They had me prepare however I was called inside for surgery at 7:30PM surgery took over 3 hrs, the surgery staff was very polite and nice, however, the recovery staff not, I was discharged based on my daughter's recount , because I wasn't awake, still under anesthesia, I only recalled been transfer from the wheelchair to the car then arriving to my home, to trying standing to vomiting and to waking up the next day. My daughter told me I was taken out from recovery room on a wheelchair with a bloody mouth, still asleep, the nurses mad rushing because was late and they had worked overtime and they wanted to go home and Dr. Porter left them there, by the way I didn't even saw him after my surgery, while was taken out the nurse saw a frog while driving the wheelchair down the ramp and let go the wheelchair while screaming because of the frog luckily able to grab one handke avoiding the chair to turn over while my daughter looking in panic and traumatized, all these recounted by her and her husband, really negligent unprofessional staff, my incision was lacerated causing me a trip to the dr office the following day for a bandages changed, so yes stay away from this place, I had never in my life had encountered so an unprofessional place like this one. Would never ever use this facility again either would recommend this dangerous place to anyone, be aware!!!! They lucky nothing bad happened to me otherwise I would have sue them.
I want to begin by recognizing the exceptional professionalism and kindness of your staff. Everyone we encountered was amazing—professional, courteous, and genuinely caring. Their compassion and understanding made a real difference during our visit. However, I do want to express concern regarding the facility and scheduling arrangements. Requiring elderly patients to arrive early for appointments, without providing sufficient indoor seating or a shaded waiting area, is unacceptable. My mother is 69 years old, and having her wait outside in the heat is not only uncomfortable but potentially dangerous. It’s critical that AdventHealth reevaluates its space and scheduling practices to better accommodate patients, particularly the elderly and those with health concerns. Whether it involves better scheduling coordination or expanding indoor waiting capacity, improvements are necessary to ensure patient safety and comfort. Again, I want to commend your staff—they were truly outstanding. I hope the facility operations can be improved to match the level of care your team provides.
