This facility was exceptionally clean and all the staff was phenomenal. I had surgery with Dr Saussvile and I was impressed of how smoothly everything went from checking in at the front desk to being discharged. Dr Saussvile (Urologist) is very knowledgeable and I knew that I was going to be in good hands. He explains everything before your surgery and follows thru with what he says. Kudos to him and everyone at DOCS!
I had an appointment December 11 2024 and arrived early. I was told by billing I could set up payments for the copay which was an outrageous 245.00 when I checked in the gal said we don’t do payment plans rudely as well. So the surgery gets canceled by them. I drove 50 miles each way in heavy rain and very dense visibility. I spent 40.00 for eye drops. We paid tolls as well. Some other lady there wanted to talk to me about this. I told her I spoke to billing twice about payment plan over the phone. She said they don’t do plans, basically saying I was lying to them. They said no one here would have said that about payment plan. My wife heard the phone conversations as I use speakerphone when talking on the phone about payment plans by a gal Named Tina . I go back home the next day I call the eye doctor who set this up and they would not give me another appointment. They said I was belligerent. I never raised my voice or cursed them as we were talking that day. I did mention I was going to do a review. So I guess they got upset by this. This place is a medical outpatient center tat lied about me being belligerent. When a medical place does this it means they have no ethics or integrity. Maybe they got angry because I didn’t buy them Christmas gifts or dinners for wasting my time and money? Who knows? I do wonder if the actual doctor knows what these people are doing prior to the actual surgery? So they think I should have Danced out the door happily for wasting my time and basically saying I lied about setting up payment plan that I was told twice in the phone prior to this day? I have never had in all of my years had an experience with a medical professional! The location is in Newark Delaware as they have a few others. The thing for them to keep in mind is I’m the patient they are not my patient. Their job is to help and keep people happy which they failed to do. Edit: no phone call no follow up by this business. Horrific for an eye surgery center.
Brought a friend in for surgery and was told would see her before surgery once they got her settled, that didn’t happen. Was told to wait and return at a specified time when she would be done, 30 minutes after that time I inquired about her status and was told to wait up to 45 minutes for a call. Asked if she was out of surgery they couldn’t say. I feel there is little or not empathy for those of us waiting who simply want an update. Unacceptable lack of compassion and information
I had a fabulous time here. It was my first time doing a minor procedure where I needed to be put under but everyone was so nice and helpful. The check in staff got everything ready and when I got called in, they got me prepped for surgery. I remember the Asian anesthesiologist and I had a really good conversation about medicine which helped pass the time while I waited for my turn. The surgery room was so nice bright, and clean! Dr. McGuirk who did my surgery had really good bedside manners and she was so lovely and calm. It made my nerves go away. Also, post-op, they bring you to a curtained off room where they offer you goldfish crackers and juice. After they wheel you out to your car when your caretaker comes to pick you up. Very seamless process.
I had a great experience here in spite of a 4 hour delay in my colonoscopy two days ago. I was extremely nervous about the procedure, but I found he team of nurses, doctors and support staff to be wonderful, caring and extremely competent and efficient. I spent 4 hours in the pre-op area (due to an equipment malfunction) not being able to eat or drink anything, and got a first hand look at their skills and bed side manners and my husband and I were both very impressed. The team stayed late to ensure that my procedure was done that day (and they had to do 3 more procedures after mine) for which I am exceedingly grateful. I can highly recommend this facility!! Special thanks to Maria, Donna, Dr. Chodos, Dr. Chao, the nurse anaesthetist and all the team! (I'm sorry that I have forgotten the names of others on the team!)
