My experience at the surgery center was perfect if there is such a thing From the time I checked in at the front office to the nurse, taking me in the back and helping me get ready for the procedure, and the other staff were totally kind, caring supportive throughout My surgeon also totally made me feel very comfortable throughout I would highly recommend this facility and staff to everyone My sincere gratitude to the total staff The only issue I've had was on the second floor when I had to see my surgeon It is totally unorganized. There are multiple check-in stations. There are no signs to let you know if you're in the right check-in And they ask you to check in on the monitor During one visit, I waited an hour in a waiting room until everybody was gone. Then when I asked, they said I'm in the wrong waiting room.
The surgery was a success. However they took a sizeable deposit in October and were reimbursed by my insurance company in November. It is now February and I still have not received my deposit. The office never call. I have left messages via email and phone nobody ever returns the call. The one time we did make contact they told me to contact Newport Orthopaedic Institute, who are just as awkward to contact but finally tell me Hoag is the correct business. UTTER SHAMBOLIC BEHAVIOUR. Posting publicly to try to get a resolution.
I have had 4 surgeries here in the last year. My stays have been very very pleasant. The staff are all super nice and knowledgeable. I hate needles and usually getting an IV is horrible, but I've had my 4 easiest IV insertions here. Very clean as well. 10/10 would recommend if you need surgery.
I woke up from surgery in the worst pain ever. I was telling the nurses I was in pain. The nurses were telling me I needed to get dressed and hit the road. I kept telling them I needed something for pain and they did not care. They were saying I needed to go outside for my ride. I'm experienced in surgeries and I know they can't send me out the door in such massive pain. Finally I had to tell them I would not leave until I got pain medication and I would file some action if they did not take care of it then. That seemed to catch the nurses attention. She typed rapidly in her computer suddenly, probably reporting it. Then she gave me a deloted which worked good and I left. One of the nurses was telling me what a partier she was before I had my surgery. I told the nurse prior to surgery not to send my pain pills to walgreens. She to me Walgreens was pharmacy which was not accurate. Blue shield says not to use Walgreens. I said to send them to cvs. The lady had attitude and was lazy. After surgery I sent to cvs. CVS said my prescription was not called in. I called the doctors office and she said ok. I called back. The receptionist for Dr. It's said to wait until the next day because after 5pm they can't contact Dr after hours. I called Dr office they said wait until next day after surgery for my pain medication because they can't talk to Dr after 5pm and i had to wait until the following day. I think that is messed up that they don't support post surgical patients after hours. I called the surgeons office again and I got voicemail instead a rude nurse who wouldn't help when I called. I chose an option to leave a message for the doctor on call. Not long after I left the message, a doctor on call called me back and helped me out by sending me a prescription to cvs.
My mother had surgery here yesterday morning and she had enough good things to say about the Hoag Orthopedic Institute she could write her own review. As the driver, I can say the service by the staff was outstanding, communication was perfect, and fresh coffee at 6:30am was a godsend!
