I can not say enough good things about this place. I went in for a surgery on my spine and I was so nervous. It was my first surgery ever. From the moment I was brought back into pre op to the moment I left I was treated so well. I was on the verge of tears the whole time and the nurses treated me with such care a compassion. They knew how to distract me and make me feel safe and cared for. My Anesthesiologist was the best also. You are in the best hands here! Thank you Newport surgery center, I appreciate you!

I was very nervous about undergoing general anesthesia for my primary rhinoplasty surgery here. The nurses understood and gave me something for the anxiety and within a few minutes the anesthesia had been administered and I was unconscious. I don't remember anything and was not in any pain afterwards. All of the nursing staff were very personable and caring. Special thanks to Adrienne S, my discharge nurse. She was so quick to get me things I needed to stay comfortable after I woke up (in my case, my eyes felt dry and itchy and I needed some eye drops). Adrienne got me everything I needed and helped me get outta there with haste!

If I could do it again, I would choose to not have surgery at this center. I have more than one concern: 1. This place is old and in need of a renovation. The surgery center is on the bottom floor of the building and it feels like a basement. The waiting room was not the cleanest. 2. There is ZERO privacy. You are taken to a pre-op room where you can see all of the other patients. In addition, you can hear everything going on with the other patients. The woman next to me was getting liposuction and quite nervous about it. There are curtains on the right and left of the bed, but the front is completely open. There are 2 bathrooms that you will have to walk past everyone else to get to while you're in a gown that you're grasping tightly so your bottom doesn't show. 3. My surgery was delayed. I work in healthcare so I know it happens, but it's still upsetting when you are fasting. I could hear everything from the nurses and the reason was because the surgeon using the room started the procedure late after lunch. Glad they got to eat, but I had to wait because of it. 4. This surgery center has you sign your consents on an e-pad without giving you the written consent to review. The front desk person will just state "okay sign the consent for anesthesia now" without giving any additional information. The surgical consent was verbally confirmed with me twice which was good. Never in my years of nursing have I seen it done this way. Here's the thing, the staff were very kind overall and it's not their fault they work in a run down surgical center. Probably still the worst surgical experience I have ever had. I had assumed because it was in Newport Beach it would be nice, but it was not. If I could have done the surgery over again, I would have chosen a different doctor just to avoid this surgery center.

Going in for a surgical procedure is never a party but I have to say my experience at NBSC was super pleasant today. Kristin helped me in pre-op and was super nice and helpful. Priscilla was my OR nurse so I don't remember much of her but her introduction but she was very nice. Dr. Sprengel, the anesthesiologist was very nice and informative and even called me the evening before to go over everything. Everything was on time as expected and the facility is super clean and pick up was easy for my husband. My doctor was also amazing but I'll leave her a separate review.

The nurses who cared for me are memorable. The best that ever cared for me. I will never forget their kindness. They were very thorough and professional yet personable. Julie F., Jen, Gina, and there were 2 more who would be with me while in surgery. They all introduced themselves and I really appreciate that. The anastysiologist also introduced himself and walked me through. Thank you to everyone. You gave me an excellent experience.
