I’m very disappointed with the billing department at Oak Surgery Center. My father is scheduled for surgery, and we received a call just one day before being told he would owe a $600 copay + an additional 30% of the remaining balance afterward. When I called to ask for clarification, the woman in billing was extremely rude and dismissive. She immediately said, “I already explained this to you,” instead of simply answering. So I quickly responded "well explain it again so I can hear." If you work in healthcare, patience is MANDATORY. I hope management seriously reviews the way their billing staff speaks to people, because the attitude we experienced was completely unacceptable.
Never again all the staff was really nice but to say bluntly that you need a body builder to move my husband so I can’t do the back injection is the rudeness thing I have ever heard from a Dr. my husband is handicap In A wheelchair the Dr knew this before we came 1 hour to the place to get on the table and be turned away. Worse Dr ever!! He did not grow or gain any weight in the 2 weeks before the appointment. If there were no stars that’s what they would get!!! Don’t go here if your handicap or over 6ft 7.
7/22/25 I can’t say enough good things about Oak Glen Surgery Center. I was genuinely scared going in, but from the moment I arrived, the entire team was so warm, gentle, and caring. They treated me with such kindness and patience, and really helped calm my nerves during a very emotional time. The anesthesiologist was especially wonderful—so informative and reassuring. She not only explained everything clearly, but also took a moment to share insight about the medical field that I can pass along to my son, who’s working toward a career in medicine. That personal connection meant the world to me. I even met a couple of sweet “lobby friends” while waiting—we shared stories, smiles, and support, which made the experience feel a little less intimidating. This place isn’t just professional—it’s full of compassion and heart. I’m truly grateful for the care I received and won’t forget the kindness shown to me.
Wow! Hope that nobody has to call regarding a billing issue and insurance issue to this company.... The lady I spoke to on the phone was not the nicest person and when I was letting her know what the insurance had told me she didn't want to hear it or let me speak and would just shoot back her explanation. I told her I was just doing what my insurance company advised me to do and she didn't want to hear anything about that. The insurance company said that something didn't look right with the billing and to call them and ask them to put my account on hold. She started "We do not put accounts in hold. It will go to collections after 3 months" So if that investigation takes longer than 3 months my account won't go too collections..... Not to mention she was chewing something the entire time and breathing super heavily into the phone. Sounded extremely unprofessional.
I was scheduled for shoulder surgery and was quite nervous especially about the IV but the caring staff made me feel at ease. Danielle was able to get the IV started without any worry and made me feel comfortable before surgery and Lynn was there when I woke up to get me ready and out of there and was nice enough to call and check on me the next day. The whole time I was there I was kept informed about everything that was going on they were very thorough about making sure that everything was correct and ready to go. Dr Locke did a wonderful job and there was little to no pain and I was very happy with the experience and would recommend the Oaks Surgery Center to friends and family. Ross Hurt II
