My son had his surgery here at this facility and for working in healthcare I have to say from check in with Harmony to pre op nurse David and the surgeon Dr. Shapiro , anesthesiologist Dr. Hale and our recovery nurse, ALL went great!! They were so good with my son. HOWEVER, they definitely could use a new billing department. The one encounter with the billing department employee Tolia, over the phone, she was unprofessional and rude, when asked questions about the amount she was asking for she couldn't explain it, and started raising her voice with me cause I was asking questions. She kept saying I was interrupting her. As a parent I was already anxious about my son's surgery and she was horrible on the phone. I hope she never has to encounter that treatment at a healthcare facility. I work with patients everyday and would never treat a person this way. If she is your first encounter for this facility, good luck, just wait and deal with payment in person. If I didn't have a great surgeon, we would have switched facilities. Harmony explained it all in a couple minutes at check in. FOUR stars only for the medical staff!!

I've had negative experiences at other surgery centers in Tucson, so I went in to this one prepared for the worst. I am happy to say I was wrong, and beyond pleasantly surprised by the wonderful care I got at Foothills Surgery Center. The checkin staff, every single nurse, my anesthesiologist, my surgeon, and literally everyone was caring, kind, and actually listened to me. I have a lot of medical trauma in my background, and many providers dismiss me when I tell them what needs to be done to make things go easier for both me and the staff. Every staff person at Foothills listened to what I told them, and actually did it, and it made the experience so, so much smoother than most surgeries I've had. I highly recommend this place!

This place is absolutely AMAZING! I wish I could remember everyone's name but every single person my son and I encountered were so great, from check- in to recovery. He had his tonsils and adenoids taken out and this was my first experience as a mom. They not only helped him feel comfortable but they definitely helped ease my mind as well. Shoutout to Dr Parry and his team, you all are amazing. Thank you so much!

Like many others have shared, our experience with the medical staff at this surgical center on the day of my daughter's tonsillectomy was excellent. The nurses and doctors were kind, professional, and made her feel safe and comfortable -- and for that, we're truly grateful. However, the billing and administrative side was an entirely different story. Be warned: keep close tabs on your billing. We received one bill, and less than 24 hours later, a second bill was sent -- with over $1,000 added to the total. Both bills listed the same surgical date and procedure. When we called for clarification, we were met with rudeness and a complete lack of accountability. We were told it wasn't their fault, but rather due to our deductible not being updated in their system yet. Even though it was clearly a mistake on their end, they were quick to deflect responsibility and insisted they had provided a "sufficient" notice of the price change -- despite the fact that the two statements were less than a day apart. Bottom line: while the medical care was top-notch, the billing department is disorganized and unprofessional, and the overall experience was tainted by how poorly this was handled. Proceed with caution and double-check everything they send you.

I just wanted to let you know that for being my first time having surgery it was totally the opposite of what I perceived. I just didn’t know what to expect. I was ignorant and new to all this, (even though most of my family members and friends have been through surgery at least once and told me about their experience). My wait time for check in and preop was very minimal, painless, polite and nice. All of my questions were answered as well. The whole experience was totally painless. The nurses and doctors that took care of me couldn’t have been more nice and helpful throughout this new experience. This whole facility was so clean and well organized. I totally found the postings on the walls in my room very informative. They educated me on why the room temperature is kept low and the other informed me about anesthesia. I did get to see firsthand that there were numerous children there and I loved how the nurses treated them so kindly. Thank you all immensely for everything.
