Appointment was for 1030am . Finally was called in about 11am. Staff was friendly enough and Dr Kopp is always so nice. After my visit I waited to be called up to schedule my next appointment. There were 4 employees and just me . I waited about 20 minuets none of them acknowledged my existence so I finally just left.
The Doctors are great always have been. It's their check-in process and initial screeners that are 0 stars. When people are having difficulty seeing, hence the WHOLE REASON for being at an eye care facility... Check-in personnel SHOULD NOT make patients use the kiosk. They should just check the patient in. The young lady did say she'd help me check in at the kiosk, but I'm standing there, handing her my insurance and driver's license, there was NO REASON for her to not just take the cards in CLEARLY HANDING HER and scan them herself. If been standing in line, I didn't go the the kiosk because I can't see... So why in earth am I being directed back to a kiosk! If I had felt confident enough with my eyesight to use the kiosk I would have done so from the beginning. I know that the medical profession today just has reception personnel as eye candy. They are not there to bupkiss except say "please use the kiosk." It's ridiculous! don't have anyone there is you are just going to direct them to self check-in. I don't know if it's laziness, rudeness, or just some misguided notion that it's more efficient, that causes the owners to make their front desk nothing more than a voice to direct patients to the kiosk, but for goodness sake, train them to just take the patients cards when they are bring handed to them. It is so annoying from the client's perspective to stand in line and then be told to go somewhere else to check in. It isn't my job to scan insurancecards, driver's license etc... I'm certainly not being given a discount for doing the front desk person's job.
Dr Kopp has been caring for my mother's eyes for decades. He is helpful, patient, and kind. Before leaving the exam room, he consistently checks with each person and provides opportunity for concise questions, optimizing the opportunity for clarification of the treatment plan. The staff and doctors work well together and collectively have provided 5/5 care for her. They have been using a portal for many years which assists with recall and review over the patient's plan of care. Yesterday was the first time the intake provider, Helen, seemed hurried and less interest in being thorough than past staff members, but maybe they were short staffed or new to her position. Irregardless, this group is excellent.
I went for my diabetic eye exam. From the time I walked in my experience was wonderful. The front desk was very nice and personable. She explained the process to me and how long I could expect to be there. Once I was called back the young lady introduced herself and I’m sorry I don’t remember her name but she was super nice. She performed all types of eye exams and didn’t rush and made me feel so comfortable. As far as the Dr. visit he was clear with explaining what he saw going on with my eyes and assured me right now there was no concerns. I feel that going to this specialist for my eye exam was needed and well worth every penny. I would definitely recommend this practice.
The wait was extremely long. I didn’t see the doctor until more than an hour and a half after my appointment time. Then it took no more than 5 minutes of his time to give me the shots. He told me no information and then just walked out when he was finished. The staff was also very rude when o tried to ask a question. The doctor did give good shots which is important to me.
