I am writing to formally complain about an interaction I had with an employee named Corina when calling the Banner Health emergency line. I contacted the emergency line seeking guidance during a stressful medical situation. Instead of receiving support, I was met with a dismissive, unprofessional, and condescending tone. Corina was abrupt, unhelpful, and spoke to me in a manner that made an already difficult situation significantly worse. At no point did I feel listened to, supported, or treated with basic respect. This was particularly concerning given that emergency lines exist specifically to help patients and families during urgent and emotionally charged moments. The lack of empathy and professionalism I experienced fell far below what should be expected from Banner Health staff. I am requesting that this interaction be reviewed and addressed appropriately. Patients and caregivers calling an emergency line should never be made to feel dismissed or spoken down to. I would appreciate confirmation that this complaint has been received and information on any steps taken to prevent similar experiences in the future. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

My wife had a procedure here that required general anesthesia. They told my wife she had stopped breathing during the procedure. I asked three separate employees there how long she had stopped breathing and what action was taken- if any. No one would say. When I requested the information from Melissa the Nurse manager, she would only state it was a 'brief apneic episode, she did not code' but would not say how long "brief" was. The several times I asked about the possibility of a propofol error they only sated 'it was not possible', and at one point the nurse manager giggled at the idea. In the end there wasn't anyone still that would answer how long she was not breathing. Dr. Saman A. Farnoush was the anesthesiologist who attended medical school in Carribean. I filed a complaint with the AZ Board of Medicine with the hope they will ask also how long she was not breathing.

My experience was less than stellar. People I talked to prior passed me off to new people in surgury room - so never spoke to them. Had an air mask put on me over an oxygen nose piece so it was very tight on inside, felt sufficating. As I said that - the tech was slapping the elastic on my face saying it was loose. Where I repeated "on the inside" to which she said " that's how he wants it". Felt same tech stroke my head to which I may have reached up as I was being drugged. She then said something about me needing a mother. I am 70 years old. I am respectful to everyone but the older I get I find especially in the medical setting being treated with a lack of concern and respect. I think generally seniors are disrespected. Not sure if I would use this facility again. Still having some of the same problem as before testing. May have to call back the office . Because I don't think they will call me.
