Staff is friendly, facility is clean. With that being said, don’t expect great care after your procedure. I have a very hard time waking up, and despite that was told to get dressed & wheeled out half asleep after both (2 blocks) procedures I had. After the 2nd procedure, I also informed them I needed to use the restroom before leaving & was left unassisted to go to the restroom. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t want them in there with me, but when I came out, the nurse was nowhere to be found & I had to get myself back into the wheelchair. Just didn’t feel like they cared about making sure I was ok before they carted me out the door either time.
I went there on Friday 8/29/25 for a lower back surgery, I arrive at 5:30 AM with my husband the receptionist was ok the only thing was she talked kind loud and other patients and their family members can hear the conversation, once I was taken to the back my husband was not allowed to be there with me the first nurse was nice the second nurse who I believe the name was Lisa was not very nice from the moment she took over she offered me to take 7 pills I ask her why she told me it was for by belly, for pain , and stomach gas I told her that I wasn’t going to take it because I was going to be under anesthesia anyway and pain medicine, I can definitely tell by the look on her face that she was not happy with me after that she told me she was going to get some IV fluids she wrapped my arm with a blue elastic band tied around it like when you’re going to get blood drawn and left me there for like 4 to five minutes I then took off the elastic band because my hand was turning purple, once she got back with a little device I informed her that I removed the band the only people that I considered to have done a great job was the anesthesiologist, the 2 nurses that come to take me to the OR and my surgeon, once I was done a nurse help me get dressed and took me to where my husband was waiting to take home, this place charge $14,000 dollars for people to get surgical procedures done in their facility to me is a lot of money and they don’t even call you before your surgery to inform you about it they will only text you so if you don’t look at that text message you may forget and eat or do something that would interfere with your surgery also my husband told me that nobody came in to talk to him or to keep him updated on how I was doing he said I got a text message saying your wife is ready she did okay they give him a plastic bag with my personal stuff and a red folder this place don’t even give you gauze pads I should have done a little more research on this place and have my surgery done somewhere else!!!
So, I had a hip replacement surgery at SIA today. Even though the surgeon was not directly affiliated with SIA, his team worked WITH SIA staff to perform the surgery. I JUST want to say the medical staff at SIA is 2nd to none in such an outpatient setting. Everyone was so focused on my comfort and making sure I understood every step of the operation.
The front desk lady was the rudest person I have ever seen. She talked to patients and family so nasty and I even watched her roll her eyes after a patients family member walked away after asking a question. They need to do better because these people are there for surgeries and are nervous as well as their families so to be treated so bad by s staff member is completely uncalled for.
The front desk staff & the nurses & anesthesiologist team were great. However I recommend not going here. If you have the option to have your surgery done in the hospital, do it. You can’t take a family member back to the pre op surgical room. You are in recovery alone and the doctors give you the most wimpy version of pain meds. I just had thyroid surgery and took a pill as directed when I got home and it did absolutely NOTHING to help. We called to ask for something stronger and they said too bad and to just deal with it. Don’t go here.
