Can’t describe the pain and discomfort I’m in and not even from my incision but my neck and upper back. My throat is so raw I can barely speak, which I understand happens with intubation but I had a pretty poor experience with certain things. My tongue got cut on the side, my lip got busted on the same side in multiple spots (I assume from the tube and my lips under the tube pressed into my teeth?) I emptied my bladder before surgery and when I woke up, I felt completely wet and told the nurses and they stuck a pad under me and said I must’ve wet myself? They didn’t wipe me off or clean me up whatsoever. I went home smelling like urine, and I can’t shower for 24 hours so my clothes smelled all day/night, my sheets smell bc obviously my body smelled. I can’t imagine letting someone sit in their own urine for hours and not bothering to clean them or atleast give them wipes to clean themselves once out of recovery.. I wiped down the best I could when I got home but still. I’ve never felt the way I do after 4 other surgeries in my whole life. I feel like I got hit by a truck or something and my surgery only took 30/45 minutes. Idk if they were just super rough with me or what but overall I’m not happy with how I was treated at all. Not to mention I’ve got weird bruising on my arms. Then the nurse basically ripped out my IV when I was leaving and had to re-apply a bandage twice bc she didn’t cover the spot and I was bleeding everywhere. And my surgeon Dr. Hughes never even came to talk to me after. I wanted to ask questions about the surgery and my incision. I’ve never had a surgeon not come check in or anything after so he lacks bedside manner for sure. He did tell my husband it went fine but otherwise we never saw him again. I’m just disappointed. No one was mean or rude per se but the experience I had wasn’t the best. Some nurses were great and I do appreciate that but overall it wasn’t very good.
I was in last week with the wife and today it was my turn. Both days the lady up front at the check-in station was so good. She should be recorded on a video to show others how to do the job, very pleasant. Also all of the folks in the back were great as well, from the nurses to the doctor's both days. Keep up the good work!
I went to this center for a colonoscopy. At 5:45am the checking lady was the kindest most positive person I have seen in a long time. It was extraordinary! She was filled with a spirit of compassion. That same atmosphere flowed through the rest of the experience in the checkin nurses, the OR nurses, the anesthesia staff and of course my doctor, Dr. Malik. I am very very grateful for this facility but more importantly the spirit of the people who work there. Marian May, MD
I talked to Ms. Tonya and she was so kind as she called to follow up for Dr. Shaffer on my husband. She was informative about the patient portal which we stalk anyway. We love the patient portal. She took her time to ask me questions and answer them too. Thankful for kind people like her.
Everyone was professional and friendly from check in to discharge home. Everything went smoothly and just exactly as planned. My nurses were patient, attentive, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
