I had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Knox on September 16th. He was very professional, courteous and friendly. I highly recommend him. Everything went smoothly and as planned. Staff was friendly and professional; however, I must give a BIG shout out to Shannon who was my pre-op nurse. She was absolutely fantastic and went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable; we even shared a few laughs. I am scheduled for the second surgery, and I pray that Shannon is my pre-op nurse!!!!! Kudos Shannon and thank you for taking such good care of me.

Had shoulder surgery by Dr Jefferson Davis here. I had read reviews and most were very good. I must say i could not have had my surgery done at a better place. Everyone was so nice,helpful, and professional. Pre-op nurse was so good at her job and very easy to talk with. She explained everything as it happened and what to expect. Dr. Davis is an amazing person and prayed with me before the surgery. A GODLY man and i was so blessed to have him on my side.

I had surgery there on Tuesday and I must say the staff that took care of me was great. Amanda Pre-Op, Tiffany-OR, Mindy, Laura Post OP recovery and Dr Shearer-Anesthesia. Dr. Knox is the best!

I waited a few days post op and off meds to get some perspective and see if I needed to write a review. After some thought, I need to warn people about Birmingham surgery center. My doctor and surgeon were very nice and competent and the pre-op nurse was so kind, helpful and knew what she was doing. However, post-op was a horrific experience, like many other reviews of this place I have seen. I woke up in a large room with no other patients, doctors or nurses. I was alone, drugged and confused. After a while my post op nurse finally showed up, with my mother. We began to ask questions like how was the surgery, did it go well? She said she didn't know. We then asked if the doctor said anything or if we could meet with them, at this point the nurse told us to and I quote "calm down". Our voices were not raised, we were not crying, I'm not sure why asking my post-op nurse how my surgery went warranted us to "calm down". The front desk also messed up my paperwork so they were texting me the patient the entire surgery instead of my mom. This also resulted in the doctor calling me the patient while under anesthesia because of their incompetence. If you are able to RUN don't walk away from this surgery center.

Not sure who to give a 1 star to BUT they all getting a 1 star. My daughter had surgery this morning. We were told and have on paper that her prescription meds would be called in to be picked up before surgery. Well they called it in to a location an hour and half away. The doctor called after her surgery and said she did great and he would have her medicine called in to the CORRECT pharmacy. We get to the pharmacy and it has not been called in, insert pissed off face. I had to then play phone tag while waiting at the pharmacy with my daughter who just came put of anesthesia. The staff, damn the staff. I would not hire some of the people. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE, I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!!!
